It doesn't get better and more satisfying than the moment our performing group members are joined by an elderly Greek Cypriot gentleman who despite aided with a walking stick is inspired to dance with us during a Figoura performance at a care home for the elderly in North London. With his walking stick in one had and the other resting on a dancer, he leads the dancers in one of our Island dance sets in front of the many nurses, care home workers, and his resident friends.
Our performers did something amazing to be proud of. It was much more than executing a perfect dance set. For just a few minutes of the day, we helped remind these elderly people about how beautiful life is through our passion for dance. The response and appreciation from our audience was truly humbling and we were all so overwhelmed by the warmth of everyone who came to see us.
It's moments like this that make our own passions even more meaningful knowing how they can impact those around us.
Thank you for having us!
