ATTENDANCE & LOGGING HOURS

Student Attendance & Hours Logging
Recording Your Dance Journey
As part of our commitment to supporting students in their Greek dance education, the Figoura School of Greek Dance now provides a simple digital attendance and hours logging system.
This system allows students to record their attendance at classes and events, helping us maintain accurate records of participation. Logged hours may also be used to support students who wish to be considered for the International Certificate Programme.
How It Works
Students can access the attendance form using one of the following methods:
Option 1: QR Code Registration
A QR code will be displayed during each class. Simply scan the code with your mobile phone to open the attendance form.
Option 2: Mobile App Shortcut
Students can save the attendance page to their phone's home screen, creating an app-like shortcut for quick and easy access whenever they attend a class.
Session Code Required
To ensure the accuracy and integrity of attendance records, a unique Session Code will be issued by the instructor during each class.
The Session Code must be entered when submitting your attendance. This helps verify that the student was present during the session and prevents unauthorised or fraudulent submissions.
Why We Record Attendance
The attendance system helps us:
-
Maintain an accurate register of student participation.
-
Monitor progress and engagement.
-
Track attendance hours for certification purposes.
-
Support applications for the International Certificate Programme.
-
Improve communication and administration across our classes.
Student Responsibility
Students are responsible for ensuring that all information submitted is accurate and truthful. Attendance records may be reviewed as part of any certification or assessment process.
We encourage all students to submit their attendance at the time of the class to ensure records remain complete and up to date.

Recognising Our Long-Term Students
(applicable to students enrolled in academic years 2025/26 and earlier)
At Figoura, we greatly value the dedication, enthusiasm, and commitment of our students. Many of you have been dancing with us for years, contributing to our community and supporting the preservation and celebration of Greek dance and culture.
As we introduce our new attendance and hours logging system (from academic year 2026/27), we want to recognise and honour the time that long-standing students have already invested in their dance journey. Rather than asking everyone to begin from zero hours, we have created a starting-hours allocation based on consecutive years of participation with Figoura.
Starting Hours Allocation
-
1 consecutive year with Figoura: 30 hours
-
2 consecutive years with Figoura: 60 hours
-
4 consecutive years with Figoura: 120 hours
-
6 consecutive years with Figoura: 180 hours
-
8 consecutive years with Figoura: 240 hours
-
10 or more consecutive years with Figoura: 300 hours
We appreciate that many students may have accumulated significantly more hours than those listed above during their time with us. While it would be difficult to accurately calculate historical attendance for every individual, we felt it was important to recognise your loyalty and commitment in a fair and meaningful way. This allocation is our way of thanking long-standing members and acknowledging the contribution you have already made to the Figoura community.
If you believe you fall into one of the categories above, please let us know. We will be happy to review our records and confirm your eligibility for the appropriate starting-hours allocation.
We look forward to continuing this journey with you as you build upon these hours through future classes, workshops, performances, and events.
Thank you for being part of the Figoura family and for helping to keep Greek dance traditions alive for future generations.
