WORLD FESTIVAL OF DANCE

The World Festival of Dance (Emmeleia) is an annual international event held in Athens, Greece, bringing together dancers from across the globe.

This festival offers students the unique chance to perform on an international stage while gaining recognised accreditation, making it a truly memorable milestone in their dance journey.

It is hosted at the historic Dora Stratou Dance Theatre, opposite the Acropolis.

Figoura School of Greek Dance is proud to be connected to the International Dance Council (CID) and as such are able to put students forward for the International Certification of Dance Studies award during the festival.

Participation in the festival requires a financial commitment as well as a commitment to rehearsals and preparation. This is a self-funded international opportunity aimed at any student who is ready to invest in their dance journey.

Festival Participation: Costs & Process

Taking part in the World Festival of Dance in Athens is an exciting international opportunity. As this is an independent global event, students and families should be aware of the costs and commitment involved.

1. Expression of Interest

Students confirm their intention to take part in the festival.

2. Registration Submission

The school submits participant names (students, performers, and accompanying persons) to the organisers.

3. Invoice Issued - An official invoice is provided covering:

CID Membership
Festival registration fees

4. Payment Required - All fees must be paid in advance in order to secure participation.

5. Official Documentation Provided - Once registered, participants receive:

Confirmation of CID Membership
Festival registration certification
Documents to support visa applications (if required)
Eligibility for International Certification of Dance Studies

CID Membership (16+): €70
CID Youth Membership (under 16): €45
Festival Registration (16+): €70
